Tapleys Shoal is a large reef system that is some 60kms south-west of Adelaide and virtually in front of Port Giles. This area is best fished with a tidal flow of no more than 1.2 mtrs between high and low water when large King George Whiting and Snapper can be caught.
We recommend fishing the three tides here and we therefore leave O’Sullivan boat ramp at 0430 ish and head across the gulf to catch the morning run in tide. The sunrise is also a big bonus.
When Tapleys Shoal fires it is excellent for very large KG’s.
All tackle and bait is supplied. If you prefer your own gear bring it along.
Soft drinks and bottled water is supplied. You will need to bring your own lunch and nibbles for the day keeping in mind we will be there from 0500 till 1800ish (pending sea conditions).
We also fish Stansbury in March as the Whiting are in close and in good numbers. Blue Swimmer Crabs, Squid and Garfish are also caught here.
A massive day on the water, allowing for sampling of everything Tapleys Shoal has to offer.
